Westdale Middle had two teams competing in the annual Academic Distinction Fund’s Executive Spelling Bee. Our first team was sponsored by Long Law Firm and included seventh graders Alex Miller and Nicolas De-Godoy Lopez, as well as, attorneys Adrian Nadeau and Katy Eckert. They made a great effort, but unfortunately they left an "e" out of "variegated" and were eliminated in round seven. Our second team was sponsored by Remax First and included eighth grader Howard Tsai and seventh grader Kevin Paul, and realtors Linda Gaspard and Steve Toney. This team was successful at the middle school round of the bee and competed against Broadmoor Middle in the championship round at the Society of Excellence Breakfast. The team spelled "origami" and "pragmatic" to defeat the Broadmoor team. Special thanks to both of the sponsors for participating in this fun activity! Congratulations to the Remax First team for being the middle school winners of the 2007 ADF Executive Spelling Bee!
